Braunig Lake Park | Calaveras Lake Park 

Fishing licenses are required but are NOT available at either lake park. However, they are available at Southton Quick Stop (Shell Station) at exit 130 on IH 37S near Braunig Lake [14003 IH 37S, 78112; 210-633-3812] or Lighthouse Bait Shop (Chevron Station) on Loop 1604 near Calaveras Lake [14072 E Loop 1604 S, 78223; 210-635-8591].

Here is a few of the regulations pertaining to watercraft at Braunig and Calaveras:
BOATING LAWS
U.S. Coast Guard approved life jacket for each person on board.
Children under 13 years of age must wear life jacket in motorboats under 26' while underway.
Certificate of number on board.
Rearview mirror/observer over 13 years of age while towing a skier.
Valid registration number must be displayed.
U.S. Coast Guard approved fire extinguisher required except for open boats under 26' without storage compartments.
NO PERSON MAY OPERATE MOTORBOAT SO AS TO CREATE A HAZARDOUS WAKE OR WASH.
Proper lights required for night operation.
Boating accidents must be reported to Texas Parks and Wildlife Department within 30 days.
DON'T BE A PAIN IN THE BOAT...BWI LAWS STRICTLY ENFORCED.

Here are some of the regulations regarding person water craft (permitted at Calaveras only):
PERSONAL WATER CRAFT (PWC) LAWS
PWC operators and passengers must wear approved life jackets.
PWC SHALL NOT JUMP THE WAKE OF ANOTHER VESSEL RECKLESSLY OR UNNECESSARILY CLOSE TO THAT VESSEL.
PWC may not operate within 50'of another boat,person, platform or shore except at idle speed.
Must be 13 years of age to operate PWC,unless accompanied by adult 17 years or older.
Operation of PWC prohibited between sunset and sunrise.
MAY NOT OPERATE PWC IN ANY MANNER THAT REQUIRES THE OPERATOR TO SWERVE AT THE LAST POSSIBLE MINUTE TO AVOID COLLISION.
Valid registration number must be displayed.
