We have been informed by corporate that this is not the case. The annual passes may only be used in lieu of the per person charge in 2012, just as it is in 2011 (this includes your boat if on your card). If you have an annual pass and stay past 8 PM you will be required to pay $4 per carload. We apologize for the confusion.

KIDS SUMMER FISHING PROGRAM BEGINS JUNE 18

Thousand Trails will be holding a “KIDS SUMMER FISHING PROGRAM” (aka, Young Angler Program) at Braunig and Calaveras Lake Parks this summer. Because of afternoon heat we will alternate between the lakes every other Saturday morning from 8-11 am starting June 18, 2011, at Braunig. There will be a maximum of ten (10) youth (ages 6-15) per class. All classes will be by reservation only. There is a $5 charge for each youth which includes the entry fee for that day. A parent must accompany each participant and sign a waiver for the youth to attend the class. Thousand Trails will provide all items needed for the young anglers during this instruction. A completion certificate will be awarded by TTMSI during a free, furnished lunch for class members and their parents. Brawny Cal, aka Alex, will be conducting these classes at both parks and has put a lot of time and work into making this program a success.

Young Angler Program

We are happy to announce that a Young Angler Program for youth will be offered this summer at both lakes on selected Saturdays. This will be a three hour program in the morning at one lake and in the afternoon at the other. Details will be released as they become available.

Clarification on Rental Policy

The management of Braunig and Calaveras Lakes rents picnicking and camping sites; IT DOES NOT RENT SHORELINE FOR FISHING.

All rental tables include the concrete pad plus a 10 foot perimeter on all sides. The group and RV sites include the specified area. If any of these boundaries include contact with the shoreline then it is included. If not, the shoreline isn't included.

This written clarification supersedes all verbal communication to the contrary.

Fishing Guide List Now Available

For those of you needing "professional help" we have added a list of fishing guides to the website.

Hints for Easter 2011

Easter weekend is a very busy time at Braunig and Calaveras Parks. If you plan to spend your Easter with us, here are some hints:

  1. All covered tables and RV sites are rented. The uncovered tables will go quickly. Your best bet is to bring your own supplies (canopy, table, grill, tents) and set up camp in one of our open areas.
  2. The line of vehicles waiting to enter the park will be VERY long and time consuming. Be sure to bring everything you need the first time to avoid another VERY long wait in line when you return.
  3. If you want to fish from the bank this is NOT the weekend to come. Available shoreline will be hard to come by.
  4. The parks will be very crowded. If you choose to come anyway realize that there will be NO REFUND of your admission fee.
  5. If you want to make a reservation for Easter 2012, or any other date, do so now or plan to wait until after Easter. NO RESERVATIONS WILL BE TAKEN DURING EASTER WEEKEND.
